Meet Bobsmith Calabasas — and one of the most purpose-built event vehicles we have ever wrapped. A 2026 MINI Countryman, fully converted into a mobile DJ platform and dressed in bold custom spot graphics designed and installed entirely in-house by 2wrap in Westlake Village, California.
The brief
Bob Smith came to 2wrap with a concept that was equal parts creative and automotive engineering. The MINI Countryman had been transformed into a fully self-contained, plug-and-play DJ rig: the DJ stands through the panoramic sunroof on a purpose-built platform, while mixing panels, sound equipment, and all performance gear are mounted directly to the roof rail. The car is not just a prop — it is the stage.
The brief for the custom spot graphics was equally clear: create a visual identity that matched the energy, color, and personality of the concept. The DJMINI name needed to be bold, joyful, and unmistakable at festivals, open days, and outdoor events across California.
The approach
For a project like this, a full color-change wrap was never the right answer. The original red of the Countryman was part of the canvas — the custom spot graphics needed to work with it, not cover it. 2wrap’s design team developed a custom spot graphics package: every element individually designed, printed, and precision contour-cut to sit perfectly against the bodywork.
Each graphic was printed in full color on 3M IJ180 white cast vinyl with a gloss overlaminate, then run through the plotter for a clean contour cut around each shape. No visible film edge. No carrier showing through. Just vivid, sharp color against the car’s original red — as if the design had always been there.
The palette embraces the joy of the project: a red-and-white harlequin check pattern across the rear panels, the bold DJMINI wordmark flanked by soundwave graphics along the doors, and gold accent lines tracing the Countryman’s natural body lines from nose to tail.
What made this custom spot graphics project stand out was not technical complexity — it was the cheerfulness and confidence of the design itself. The colors are playful and deliberate, the lettering crisp and celebratory. For a vehicle that performs at events, the graphics do exactly what they should: draw a crowd and start conversations before the music even begins.
The full installation was completed in one day at 2wrap’s Westlake Village studio. Bob Smith collected the car with great enthusiasm — and we have no doubt it turns heads at every event it attends.

Frequently asked questions
What is custom spot graphics, and how is it different from a full wrap?
A full wrap covers the entire vehicle with vinyl film. Custom spot graphics uses individually printed and contour-cut shapes applied to specific panels. Each element is printed in full color, laminated for UV and scratch protection, and cut to the exact outline of the design — so only the graphic itself is applied, with no background film and no visible edges. The result looks as if the design is painted directly onto the car.
What vinyl was used for the DJMINI project?
3M IJ180 white cast vinyl with a 3M gloss overlaminate. IJ180 is a premium cast film engineered for complex curves and long-term outdoor durability — exactly what a vehicle that travels to festivals and events across California demands.
How long did the installation take?
The complete installation was finished in one day at 2wrap’s facility in Westlake Village, California. Custom spot graphics require careful panel preparation and exact placement — but when the groundwork is right, the result is fast and flawless.
Can I get custom spot graphics for my vehicle?
Yes. 2wrap designs, prints, and installs custom spot graphics for personal vehicles, event cars, and commercial fleets — entirely in-house, from first sketch to final panel. Visit our automotive services page to get started.
