Embarking on a maritime masterpiece in Genova, Italy, our crew from Belgium joined forces with our counterparts from California to undertake the remarkable task of wrapping the illustrious Aquilla Yacht.

This collaboration marked a pinnacle moment in our journey, as we meticulously safeguarded every facet of this mega yacht with precision and expertise. From protecting the elegant railings to preserving the opulent furniture, and ensuring the azure hues of the yacht’s sides remained pristine, our endeavor was a testament to our unwavering dedication to excellence.

This project stands as a shining example of innovation, skill, and teamwork, encapsulating the essence of our craft in one of the most remarkable ventures we’ve ever embarked upon.

Aquila Yacht Paint Protection Film — Two Weeks, Two Crews, One Superyacht

The Aquila yacht paint protection film project is one of the most extraordinary commissions we have ever undertaken. An 85-meter superyacht. Two international crews. Two locations across two continents. Approximately two weeks of fulltime work to protect every surface of one of the most valuable private vessels on the water.

The Aquila — A $150 Million Superyacht

The Aquila is an 85.6-meter superyacht valued at approximately $150 million, owned by Ann Walton Kroenke — heiress to the Walmart fortune and one of the wealthiest women in the United States. Originally built as the Cakewalk at Derecktor Shipyards, she is one of the largest private yachts ever constructed in the US. The Aquila features a swimming pool, elevator, spa, and a custom 11-meter chandelier — a vessel where every detail reflects the highest possible standard.

Being entrusted with the Aquila yacht paint protection film installation is not something we take lightly. It required our absolute best — in planning, in materials, and in execution.

The Project: Full PPF Installation in Genova, Italy

The main body of work took place in Genova, Italy. Our team from Belgium joined forces with our California crew to tackle the full scope of the installation — protecting the railings, all furniture across the yacht, and extensive surface areas throughout the vessel.

Working on a superyacht of this scale is a different challenge from anything on the road. The surfaces are larger, the materials are more varied, and the standards of the owner are uncompromising. Every section had to be measured, cut, and applied with the precision you’d bring to the finest automotive work — multiplied across an entire ship.

We worked fulltime for approximately two weeks to complete the Aquila yacht paint protection film installation in Genova.

Finishing Touches in Marina Del Rey, California

After the main installation in Italy, the Aquila sailed to Marina Del Rey in California, where our team completed the final finishing touches. Having our California studio available for the follow-up work meant we could see the project through to the end with the same level of care — not handing it off, but finishing what we started.

This continuity — Belgium to Italy, Italy to California — is a reflection of how seriously we approach large-scale international projects. The Aquila deserved a team that would follow her.

A Reference That Speaks for Itself

The Captain of the Aquila provided a formal reference letter documenting the work carried out by our team. You can read it directly on our website: reference letter from the Captain of the Aquila. We’re proud to share it — it says more than we could say ourselves.

Nautical PPF — Why It Matters

Paint protection film on a superyacht serves the same purpose as on a high-end automobile, but the stakes are higher. Salt water, UV exposure, and the physical demands of ocean travel put yacht surfaces under constant stress. PPF protects railings, furniture, and painted surfaces from corrosion, fading, and surface damage — preserving the aesthetic and the asset value of the vessel over time.

For a yacht like the Aquila, protection isn’t optional — it’s part of maintaining an investment of this magnitude.
